Looking Forward

Yesterday’s post was all about looking back over 2010. Now it’s time to look forward to 2011. From where I’m sitting (lounging in front of a football game), 2011 will be a busy year. There will be challenges, but there should also be fun. Today, I’ll take a look at some of the exciting events I’m most looking forward to. In tomorrow’s post I’ll get serious and talk a bit about some of my goals and the challenges I expect to confront.

Coming up on January 10, the Oregon Ducks meet the Auburn Tigers for the BCS National Championship game. As a graduate of the University of Oregon, School of Law, I’m rooting for the Ducks. It’s a real thrill to have them in this game–but let’s face it: winning would be even better.

I’m also looking forward to the end of winter. I know–we’ve only just started this chilly season, but I’m ready for Spring. Don’t get me wrong–Winter is beautiful here in Eastern Washington. Take a look.

Winter 2011

I’m a wimp when it comes to walking outside on snowy, icy walks. I love walking my dog every day and I’m looking forward to Spring when we can take longer walks in more pleasant weather. (Note–rain is okay–it’s just snow that slows me down. I am a Duck after all. Three years living in Eugene made me completely waterproof).

I’m looking forward to RWA National this summer. The conference will be in New York City where my youngest lives. I don’t get to see her enough, so any excuse to get close is a good thing. I may even get to extend the trip for a few days and work in a visit with my son who is now living in the Boston area.

Of course, I’m also looking forward to spending more time with my grandson and watching him grow.

I mean, seriously–look at that face!

Last, but not least, I’m looking forward to reviving Unleash Your Story, the fundraiser for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

2011–Bring it on!
