Winter rest

I’m back in Missoula for the start of winter break. The first thing I did was take my dog down to the river. Things are grey and quiet here (except in Washington-Grizzly stadium where they are rockin’). I was struck with the peacefulness of the bare trees, reaching toward heaven as if seeking the sun.

I’m not sure my photo captures it, but here it is followed by my haiku. You can play along. Just write something in 3 lines with a total of 17 syllables.

Proud and tall through Wedgwood sky

Arms reach for distant sun

Winter peace
